Inappropriate Use of the Network
Checking my email at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, I had two messages alerting me to a new user soliciting other members to chat with her on webcam (and it didn't appear these would be "G" rated conversations). I quickly went on the site and banned the member.
First off, let me apologize to other members of The Real Estate Network here on Ning for the inappropriate use of the network by this member. We take pride in providing valuable content and a means for other real estate professionals to connect with one another through this network. Because of the explosive growth of private social networks such as The Real Estate Network, there is a growing number of spammers looking to gain access to spread their messages. Inevitably, some will gain access and manage to get their messages out to a few members before being caught.
Which is the second point I'd like to reference in this post - if you receive a message from someone you suspect is using the site for spamming, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thanks to Amy Ensminger and Santiago Ogradon, I was notified as soon as they had received these spam messages, and I was able to immediately ban the offending member from the site.
We do monitor the site on a daily basis, and we encourage you to help us make sure the site is used for legitimate networking. If you receive messages from other members that appear to be spam, please let Laurie Mapp (site administrator) or myself know. We'll get on it.

- Good info, Brad. I am about to bring up our own metroeastside.ning.com and am compiling rules for our network as we speak.
